Griffith Observatory Nov 9 (Sun)

An icon in Los Angeles for over 70 years, the Griffith Observatory is a national leader in public astronomy. Experience the new state of the art 300 seat Samuel Oschin Planetarium, featuring a new seamless dome, new star projector, new digital laser projectors, upgraded sound system and more. Show times available during our stay are 2:15pm, 3:15pm or 4:15pm. Tickets must be purchased at the observatory. We arrive at Griffith Observatory approx 1:30pm and depart at 5:30pm. Wheel of Fortune Nov 13 (Thurs)

“Pat, I’d like to buy a vowel.” Come join us as we attend a taping of T.V.’s most watched game show, Wheel of Fortune in Hollywood. Watch contestants spin the Wheel and try and guess the puzzle for cash and fabulous prizes. See host Pat Sajak and Vanna White, the most famous letter turner on T.V. The Price is Right is the highest rated and the longest running game show in T.V. history! So come on down with Airbus and see if you get picked from the audience to join the other lucky folks on “contestant’s row.” We won’t be making a meal stop on the way down, so you’re welcome to bring something to munch on, but after the show, we will make a stop at Farmers Market. A Hearst Castle Christmas Dec 12 (Fri)

It’s December 1930 and you’ve been invited to spend a few days with William Randolph Hearst at his little house on the hill. The place would have been decorated to the hilt. Every room would have been all aglitter with fresh holly, garlands hanging from overhead, a giant Christmas tree in the Assembly room with lights galore. No expense was spared for decorating Casa Grande. Come find out what it was like ‘way back when’ as we take a day tour of Hearst Castle all decorated for Christmas. Before our castle tour, we will see The National Geographic Imax movie: Hearst Castle Building a Dream. We will make an on-your-own lunch stop in Morro Bay going up and a meal stop on our return. The Orange County Performing Arts Center comes alive with the magic, the mystery, the memory of Cats. What began as a musical about cats after Andrew Lloyd Webber picked up a book of poems in an airport bookshop has become one of the longest running shows on Broadway. Winner of 7 Tony awards including Best Musical, Cats features 20 of Andrew Lloyd Webbers’ timeless melodies, including the hit song, Memory. Our seats for Cats are in front-orchestra. 120th Tournament of Roses Parade ‘Hat’s off to Entertainment’ Jan 1 (Thurs)

Wake up sleepy head, its January 1st! Time for the 120th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. Be part of the New Year’s Day tradition as we watch all those magnificent floats, bands, equestrian units and who knows, we may even see a spectacular fly-by, by one of our stealth fighters. It’s the only way to see the parade. Watching it on TV does not even come close. Our seats are right under the TV cameras in the 400 block of Colorado Blvd. These are bleacher seats, so bring something comfortable to sit on and a blanket. On the way down, we will serve a continental breakfast and on the way home, we will stop for an on-your-own lunch. If you didn’t see the parade in person, here’s your chance to see, up close, all the floats you saw on TV displayed at Victory Park in Pasadena. Stroll at your own pace as you “ooh” and “ahh” at all those beautiful moveable works of art. You’ll have two and a half hours to inspect every one.
